Ergonomics and social connection take center stage, featuring a raised dishwasher for effortlessly comfortable access, while the oven has been intelligently positioned within the central island to encourage a highly interactive, social cooking experience.

Grounded by premium stone benchtops that balance the warmth of the custom timber, every inch of this kitchen has been thoughtfully detailed to blend heritage character with cutting-edge, everyday functionality.

For seamless functionality, we integrated the Blum Legrabox drawer system. These drawers offer whisper-quiet, smooth motion and a sleek, minimalist design that perfectly complements the high-end joinery in this kitchen.

The Challenge: Harmonising an antique, treasured heirloom piece with a modern kitchen layout while maximising ergonomic efficiency in a compact footprint.

The Design Solution: I engineered a bespoke joinery plan that celebrates materiality, pairing solid American Oak door frames with rich Silky Oak veneer panels and refined mesh inserts for a sophisticated, tactile finish. The design centres around the client’s antique Chinese cabinet, which I seamlessly integrated into the cabinetry run. To optimise the user experience, I incorporated a raised dishwasher for ergonomic accessibility and positioned the oven within the central island to foster a more interactive, social cooking environment.
